A head-on collision in Coweta County left four people injured on Monday March 26, 2012. According to reports of the accident, a Ford Focus and a Ford F650 dump truck collided on Collinsworth Road, near Goodlin Road, during the afternoon hours of March 26.

Reports indicate that the Ford Focus was traveling East on Collinsworth Road when it appeared to go off the road and then overcorrect into the westbound lane where it collided with the dump truck.  After the collision, it was reported that the dump truck went off the road and the passenger car spun around and ended up facing the opposite direction from which it had been traveling prior to the crash.

The driver of the passenger car, Jessica Sims, and her husband Phillip Sims who was a passenger in the car, were reportedly stuck in their vehicle after the wreck and had to be rescued by emergency personnel. They were seriously injured and airlifted to Grady Hospital, according to a sergeant with the Coweta County Sherriff’s office.

Milton Negron-Martinez , the driver of the dump truck, and Rivera Urieol, the passenger in the dump truck, were also injured in the crash and taken by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center.

The Coweta County Sherriff’s Department is still investigating this head-on crash and no charges have yet been filed with relation to the accident.
