Cobb County police have announced that they plan to charge the driver of a car that struck an SUV and injured a 5-year-old boy last week. The accident happened in Marietta shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011.
This Marietta crash occurred at the intersection of Macland Road and John Ward Road. According to reports of the wreck, a T-bone collision occurred when the SUV was hit by another vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the SUV to flip on its side.
The 5-year-old child was a passenger in the SUV and sustained a head injury in the accident. He was rushed to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. His condition improved once he got to the hospital, and he was discharged within a few days. The driver of the SUV was able to get out of the wreckage, but it is unclear whether she suffered any injuries.
According to the Cobb County police department, the driver of the vehicle that hit the SUV will be charged with failure to yield.
