On Wednesday morning November 17, 2010, a 4 year old girl was hit by a sports utility vehicle in Cobb County, Georgia.  The accident happened at the intersection of Powers Ferry Road and Delk Road, not far from Interstate 75.

The child has been identified as Asia Bohannon.  Asia was walking on Delk Road with her mother.  Her mother alleges that she was holding Asia’s hand with one hand and holding groceries in the other hand while they were walking.  Her mother and police report that when the pair got to the driveway of the Gardens of East Cobb apartments, a black Dodge Durango didn’t see them and hit Asia.

A witness told reporters that the whole Durango rolled over Asia. Asia was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite for treatment.  Reports indicate that she was crying and screaming at the accident scene.  Fortunately, on Wednesday afternoon, Asia was reported to be in stable condition.

Although the driver did stop and cooperated with police, officers report that that they are still determining what the charges will be for the Durango driver involved in this crash.

We extend our best wishes to Asia Bohannon for a quick and complete recovery following this Georgia SUV pedestrian accident.
