A Gwinnett County car accident left one person in critical condition and another seriously injured on Saturday night May 14, 2011. The accident occurred on Braselton Highway near Spout Springs Road around 8:30 p.m.

It has been reported that the crash occurred when one car clipped another vehicle, crossed the center line and hit a second car in a head-on crash. According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, the police were alerted to a potential drunk driver in the area and were on their way to the area to question the driver. That driver was involved in the accident before officers arrived.

Both drivers involved in this Georgia head-on collision had to be extricated from their vehicles. The driver of the vehicle that crossed the center line was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was airlifted to Grady Hospital and was in intensive care in the days following the crash. Neither of the drivers' names have been released. Two people in the car that was clipped just prior to the head-on collision were also taken to the hospital with injuries.
