It is hard to be speak in absolute terms such as “always” and “never” when it comes to medical mistakes or medical outcomes.  However, wrong site surgeries may be the exception to that rule.  Wrong site surgeries are often defined as “never” events by those in the medical community. In other words, they are medical mistakes that should never happen. If they do happen, then they are the result of medical negligence.

Since wrong site surgeries can be prevented by adherence to the universal protocol and an exercise of reasonable care, patients, or their survivors, may be entitled to damages if they suffer physical harm from a wrong site surgery.

If you have suffered such harm, or if you have lost a loved one, because of medical malpractice, then you may be entitled to damages.  Please read our free report Surgery Common Problems and Surgical Errors to learn more about malpractice related to surgery, and contact an experienced Atlanta medical malpractice attorney at 1.770.518.1133 or via our online contact form for more information.
