A 20-year-old man from Waycross was charged with DUI, homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended or revoked license after a Monday, May 7, 2012 car crash in Pierce County, Georgia. The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on U.S. 84.

According to reports of the accident, 20-year-old Michael Wright was driving a Ford pickup westbound on U.S. 84 when he rear-ended a Mercury Grand Marquis near Bowen Road. The Georgia State Patrol reports that that rear-end accident caused the Grand Marquis to cross over into the eastbound lane and collide with the front of a Buick Lucerne.

The Buick Lucerne was driven by Waycross resident Janice Everett. Ms. Everett is reported to have suffered injuries in this crash and was taken to the Mayo Clinic in Waycross for treatment. Edwin Milner Everett, 69, was a passenger in the Buick at the time of the crash and was reportedly killed in this Georgia car accident.

Mr. Wright and the driver of the Mercury Grand Marquis, James Snow, of Jesup, were reportedly uninjured in this serious Pierce County car accident. Mr. Wright was apprehended shortly after the car crash and remained in Pierce County jail the day after his crash pending a bail hearing.

Our Georgia car accident lawyers extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Edwin Everett, and we extend our best wishes for a full and fast recovery to Ms. Janice Everett.
