A Loganville car accident fatality was the 11th such fatality to be suffered in the county earlier this month.
On Tuesday, November 1, 2011, 56-year-old Mark Jonathan Jidov was riding his bicycle north on Broadnax Mill Road in Loganville, Georgia, just north of Youth-Monroe Road. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Mr. Jidov was hit from behind by a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck at approximately 6 p.m. that evening. The truck was also traveling northbound on Broadnax Mill Road at the time of the crash.

Mr. Jidov was taken to Walton Regional Medical Center, where he reportedly died from his car accident related injuries.

Police have not yet released the name of the driver who hit Mr. Jidov, because the driver is still a minor. The police have informed the media that the driver is a 16-year-old Loganville resident who has had his license for about 5 months.

The police report that charges are pending against the driver, though they have not commented on the nature of those charges other than to say that alcohol and drugs are not suspected based on preliminary test results.

We extend our sincerest condolences the family, friends and colleagues of Mark Jonathan Jidov following this fatal Georgia car accident.
