A serious crash on Ga. 316 took the life of a husband and wife on Wednesday, July 15, 2011. The crash occurred about 20 miles east of Lawrenceville around 9:30 a.m.

According to Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry, Diane Noles Stotler was traveling eastbound on Ga. 316 in an Acura SUV when she ran a red light and crashed into a Toyota Camry driven by Denghui Cheng, which was traveling northbound on Jimmy Daniels Road.

Ms. Stotler and her 14-year-old passenger, Tyler Edwards, were taken to local hospitals with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Mr. Cheng and his wife Caxia Cheng were both declared dead at the scene of this Georgia intersection accident. Mr. Cheng was 58-years-old and his wife was 57. They both worked for Olis and raised a son, Tom, in the United States after moving here from China about two decades ago.

The crash was investigated by the Georgia State Patrol, and the road remained closed for approximately two hours after this fatal Georgia wreck.

We extend our best wishes to the family, friends and co-workers of Denghui Chen and Caxia Cheng following this tragic Georgia car accident, and we extend our best wishes to Diane Stotler and Tyler Edwards for a fast recovery from their accident injuries.
