A DeKalb County crash killed two people and injured two others last month. The head-on collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday October 16, 2011.

According to police, a Chevrolet Corvette was traveling northbound on Buford Highway in DeKalb County. It is alleged that the driver of the Corvette was speeding when he lost control of the car and went into the southbound lane where the Corvette collided with an Acura. The driver of the Corvette, 23-year-old Raul Velazquez, and his brother and passenger 22-year-old Abraham Velazquez were declared dead at the scene of the accident. The Velazquez brothers are reported to be the sons of the Spanish speaking minister at University Baptist Church in Atlanta. We extend our sincere condolences to their family and friends.

The driver of the Acura, 44-year-old Denise Hudson, of Williamson, and her daughter were critically injured in the crash. Ms. Hudson was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, and her daughter was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Scottish Rite.

Ms. Hudson and her daughter are both expected to survive their DeKalb County car accident injuries. We extend our best wishes to them for full and fast recoveries of their injuries.
