On Monday, November 8, 2010, a 39-year-old man from Oxford was killed in an accident near the Newton County recycling center.

This fatal Georgia crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on Stone Road in Covington.  The Georgia State Patrol reports that 68-year-old Donald Kahle of Oxford was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram west on Stone Road on Monday afternoon when he tried to make a left hand turn into the recycling center.  As he was making the left hand turn, his pickup truck was struck in the rear quarter panel by a motorcycle that was travelling in the opposite direction.   The motorcycle was driven by 39-year-old Terrance Michael Collins of Oxford.

Police report that Mr. Collins was ejected from his motorcycle and killed in the crash.  Mr. Kahle was not seriously injured.  The police also report that their preliminary investigation shows that Mr. Collins had the right of way and that Mr. Kahle could face charges when the accident investigation is complete.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Terrance Michael Collins following this tragic Georgia fatal motorcycle crash.
