I have been injured at work. What do I need to do right away?

A: The actions you must take may slightly deviate among companies but usually follow the standard sequence. As soon as you discover an injury, report it to your manager (or your supervisor if the manager is not available) and then seek medical assistance (if your medical condition is severe enough to prevent you from reporting your injury, then the supervising staff remains responsible for getting the proper medical assistance to you). There are eligibility forms that an employee must submit after an occurrence. It is essential that you act immediately because of the state statutes limiting the time frame within which you may apply. You may also apply for the short-term or long-term disability if an injury prevents you from working. If your employer’s insurance company delays or denies coverage of your injury-related expenses or that coverage is not even enough to cover for your treatment, then call us immediately so we can assist you in receiving proper compensation for your medical bills, lost wages and more.
